Coast Guard Seeking Information Following Distress Call

The call came in Tuesday afternoon

The Massachusetts Coast Guard is asking the public's help for information regarding the vessel Regal Two.

According to the Coast Guard, watchstanders at Sector Southeastern New England received a distress call around 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

One person was reported to have said, "mayday," before the transmission was lost.

No geographical information was passed along.

The Coast Guard placed the search area roughly 70 nautical miles southwest of Nantucket.

A helicopter crew and Ocean Sentry crew from Air Station Cape Cod searched the area for any signs of distress.

Anyone with any information on the Regal Two or its crew is asked to contact the Coast Guard.
