College Student Arrested After Armed Road Rage Incident

Police in Wellesley, Massachusetts, say they have arrested a Bay State Community College student after he allegedly pointed a gun at another driver during a road rage incident.

The alleged incident happened Thursday morning around 11 on Route 9 west near Cedar Street.

A motorist told police a man driving a black Toyoda sedan pulled up alongside him, made a profane gesture toward him and then pointed a gun at him.

The suspect then pulled ahead of the victim, who took down the license plate information.

Police confirmed the car was registered to Ian Beagan, 25, of Allston. Police located Beagan's vehicle on the Bay State Community College campus and worked with staff to locate him.

Beagan was led to an empty classroom where he allegedly admitted the incident to police.

Beagan is licensed to possess a firearm.

He was taken into custody and is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and possessing a firearm on school property.
