Mass. Congressman Bill Keating Appointed to House Armed Services Committee

Massachusetts Congressman Bill Keating, has been appointed to the House Armed Services Committee, it was announced Tuesday.

Keating, who served the South Shore, South Coast and the Cape and Islands as U.S. Representative, will replace his past assignment on the House Committee on Homeland Security with his new committee.

He was assigned the title by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the House Steering Committee, according to a statement.

Keating says the Committee assignment will allow him to bring new missions to Joint Base Cape Cod. In addition to his HASC assignment, the Congressman will be chairman of one of the Subcommittees of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
