Crews Battle 3-Alarm Fire in Lynn, Mass.

The third alarm for the fire at 13 Lowell St. went out at 3:45 a.m.

Fire crews in Lynn, Massachusetts, battled a three-alarm fire Tuesday morning.

The third alarm for the fire at 13 1/2 Lowell St. went out at 3:45 a.m. the fire was contained to the third floor and attic space.

Three families, including 10 adults and two children, lived inside the building.

Firefighters said the congested neighborhood made accessing the building difficult.

One firefighter was taken to a hospital for exhaustion. He is expected to be alright.

The district fire chief said it will be some time before residents can move back in.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
