A firefighter was injured after falling through the first floor as first responders battled a 2-alarm fire in Massachusetts Friday afternoon.
Methuen Fire says the firefighter, who was fighting the blaze at 50 Gill Ave., hurt his shoulder and ribs but is expected to be okay after falling through the first floor into the basement.
Firefighters with Lawrence Fire also confirmed they responded for mutual aid. Methuen police were also on on the scene.
The residents were not home when the fire started. Authorities also say a dog died in the fire. The fire is under investigation.
Meanwhile, firefighters in nearby Lawrence were also busy fighting a fire at 38 Bowdoin St. Authorities say two families were living in a triple decker, but no one was home at the time.
There's no word on the cause of this fire or an estimate of the damage.
