DA: Slain Couple Were to Testify in Home Invasion Case

Police say 28-year-old Alex "Macho" Lora and 26-year-old Jessica McKeon were found shot in their Forbes Street apartment on March 10

Authorities say a couple killed last month in Worcester, Massachusetts, were expected to testify against a man who allegedly broke into their home in 2013.

The Telegram & Gazette reports the Worcester District Attorney's Office said in a hearing Tuesday that its case against 30-year-old Chad Easter for the 2013 home invasion and nonfatal shooting has been derailed by the "unavailability" of its witnesses.

Police say 28-year-old Alex "Macho" Lora and 26-year-old Jessica McKeon were found shot in their Forbes Street apartment on March 10.

McKeon was declared dead at the scene. Lora died shortly after at a local hospital.

The double killing remains under investigation.

The couple was scheduled to testify against Easter, who allegedly invaded their Circuit Avenue East apartment in November and shot Lora in the hand.
