DA: Man's Body Found Off of Roadside, Investigation Underway

Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a man in Billerica, Massachusetts.

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office said a 30-year-old man was found on Concord Road around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

First responders tried to administer medical assistance to the victim but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors said they woke up to detectives knocking on their doors for information.

"He told me there was a body found at the top of the hill and asked if I had heard anything or seen anything strange going on," said resident Lorraine Smith.

One female resident, who did not want to be identified, said police told them the man's body had been left there.

"They said somebody was strangled and the body was dumped," said the woman.

The victim has not yet been identified but is said to be from Lowell.

Billerica police said Concord Road was closed for a time in the area of Tech Park. That scene has since cleared.

The Chief Medical Examiner is working to determine the man's exact cause and manner of death.

The death is under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Billerica Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.
