The driver caught in a highway inferno after her car exploded in the middle of the Expressway in Braintree, Massachusetts, is talking about her terrifying ordeal.
Rosanna Moricette still doesn't remember everything. One minute the Brockton mother of two was headed to her job in the Seaport, the next, three strangers were banging on her car window telling her she had to get out.
"I tried to open the car, I can't see nothing," Moricette said Thursday in her first interview since the Dec. 7 accident.
Moricette's Toyota Corolla was rear-ended on I-93. The accident caused her car to catch fire. Three strangers ran towards the car, smashing the driver's side window before pulling her out.
"I said, ‘Thank you, God, thank you for the people who helped me get out of the car,’" she said.
Moricette was in the hospital for two days. She's now back home, but in a lot of pain. She says she doesn't want to think about what would have happened had those three not pulled her out.
She has been able to thank one woman, Patti Ryan, who was there that day, but still doesn't know the identities of the two men.
"That is a good job they do that day, I don't know how someone can expose themselves to save someone," Jean Lormil, Moricette's husband, said. "Only God can make you do that, because if you see someone in danger, you see a way can save them."
According to state police, the driver of the SUV who hit her was issued two citations, including a marked lanes violation.
