A magnitude 1.7 earthquake rattled the shores of Boston and Gloucester Monday evening.

During the thunder and rain that poured over the region on Monday, the earthquake struck at 6:08 p.m. just under 11 miles from Gloucester and 26 miles from Boston.

The temblor hit at a depth of 3 miles

No injuries or structural damage were immediately reported in connection to the earthquake.
