After a full day of repairs and a shutdown, crews finished placing 150 feet of new rails for the MBTA Green Line E Branch.
MBTA officials first announced the shutdown Thursday and said the service will be down from Brigham Circle to Heath Street. The broken rail was reported at Riverway, they said.
Officials suggested commuters take the Route 39 bus as an alternative. Travelers on the Green Line can transfer at Copley and Orange Line commuters can transfer at Back Bay.
"It hasn't really been that inconvenient for me," Cora Telles, an MBTA commuter, said. "On the way home it's tougher. I actually like it better, I think."
The following stops were affected by the repairs:
- Heath Street
- Back of the Hill
- Riverway
- Mission Park
- Fenwood Road
- Brigham Circle
