Ex-Food Co-op Manager Faces Embezzlement Charges

The former general manager of a Franklin County, Massachusetts, food-co-op charged with embezzling $60,000 from the organization is scheduled to face a judge this week.

Prosecutors say 51-year-old Dwight Gaddis, of Chanhassen, Minnesota, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Franklin County Superior Court on multiple larceny counts.

Authorities say Gaddis embezzled the money while general manager of the Franklin Community Co-op from December 2012 until September 2013.

The co-op runs Green Fields Market in Greenfield and McCusker's Market in Shelburne Falls. It has more than 2,400 member-owners and an annual sales volume of more than $8.5 million.

Marketing and Membership Manager Suzette Snow-Cobb says the organization has adopted new fiscal policies.

It's not clear if Gaddis has a lawyer.
