FBI Digging as Part of Investigation in Providence, Rhode Island

FBI agents are digging near an abandoned building in Providence, Rhode Island, as part of an investigation Wednesday.

It was the second day of digging for the bureau, but what they are looking for, they aren't saying.

The FBI evidence response was using an excavator, digging on the property of an old mill.

The state medical examiner sent personnel to the scene late Wednesday afternoon. That would indicate they are looking for human remains, but the FBI won't confirm that.

The Boston Globe, meanwhile, is reporting they are looking for 43-year-old Steven DiSarro. He was the owner of The Channel nightclub in South Boston until he disappeared in 1993.

The paper also sites court documents saying James "Whitey" Bulger's right hand man, Stephen "The Rifleman" Flemmi, told the FBI he saw DiSarro strangled in May of 1993 and was later told he was buried in Providence.

For people in the neighborhood, it's a mystery.

The Globe also notes that the owner of this mill pleaded guilty to federal drug charges recently. The digging will resume Thursday.
