Fire Chief Fired for ‘Series of Poor Decisions'

They report Town Manager Steve Bartha said in a statement Chief Kevin Farrell's termination is effective Monday

The fire chief in Danvers, Massachusetts, has been fired for "for conduct unbecoming of a fire chief," according to the town manager.

Town Manager Steve Bartha said in a statement Chief Kevin Farrell's termination is effective Monday.

The statement does not go into detail about the events which led to Farrell's firing.

Bartha said in the statement, "this was not an easy decision for me, but it was brought on by Mr. Farrell's own conduct and a series of poor decisions on his part.

Farrell has the right to appeal the decision to the State's Civil Service Commission.

Farrell was previously put on administrative leave on July 27, but Bartha did not explain why he was put on that leave.
