Firefighters battles a structure fire in Avon, Massachusetts.
The Friday morning blaze was reported on West High Street, according to Avon Fire Department Chief Robert Spurr.
"From what I understand from the pictures and videos, it was roaring very well when I got here," Spurr said. "There was no way this house was saveable based on what it looked like. It was already gone when they got here."
Due to the collapsed walls and unstable chimney, prompting an investigation immediately was a difficult task for officials.
