Former Pediatrician Jailed For Possessing, Distributing Child Porn

Daniel J. O’Hern, 65, was sentenced to 63 months in prison.

A resident of Mashpee, Massachusetts, and a former pediatrician in New York, was sentenced to prison Monday for the distribution and possession of child pornography.

Daniel J. O’Hern, 65, was sentenced to 63 months in prison, United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz announced. O'Hern's time in jail will be followed by five years of supervised release and a fine of $12,500.

Investigators learned O'Hern was distributing child pornography when he utilized a public file sharing program to post pictures and videos of minors, between the ages of five and 12, engaged in sexually explicit conduct with adults, according to Ortiz.

In May of 2014, a warrant was obtained and executed to search O'Hern home. Law officials seized multiple computers, external hard drives, hundreds of DVDs and other media storage devices which contained an extensive collection of images and videos depicting children being sexually assaulted by adults, court documents indicated.

O’Hern will be required to register as a sex offender with the Sex Offender Registration Board.
