Fox That Bit 2 People Tests Positive for Rabies

Two people were bit in the area of Route 56 and King Street on March 10

Officials in Leicester, Massachusetts, say a fox that bit two people earlier this month has tested positive for rabies.

Two people were bit in the area of Route 56 and King Street on March 10.

The next morning a resident reported the fox near Memorial School around 6:30 a.m.

The fox was put down and turned over to Leicester Animal Control.

According to the office of the town administrator, it is possible the fox could have infected other animals.

The town is holding a rabies clinic on April 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Town Hall Gym. The cost is $10 per pet.
