Grand Jury Indicts Man in Lowell, Massachusetts, Double Murder

A Middlesex County grand jury has indicted a 28-year-old man in connection with the killings of two brothers in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said on Friday that Dara Poum of Chelsea was indicted on charges including first-degree murder, home invasion and possession of a firearm without a license. He's detained without bail.

Poum previously pleaded not guilty to charges he killed 35-year-old Keith Callahan and 29-year-old Joseph Callahan in an apartment on Andrews Street in Lowell on Aug. 10. A message seeking comment was left Friday for Poum's lawyer, Liam Scully.

Authorities say Poum entered the apartment and demanded to see someone who wasn't there, then shot the brothers during an argument.

Keith and Joseph Callahan were the fathers of five children total.
