Emergency workers successfully rescued a horse that fell in ice and mud in Westminster, Massachusetts, on Tuesday.
Westminster Fire said the horse fell on ice near 59 Overlook Road. The call came in around 2 p.m.
Charlie, a recently retired draft horse, wandered away from his home on Tuesday afternoon. The animal fell and wasn't able to get up.
Neighbors, police, firefighters, animal control and the horse's owner all worked together to pull the horse to a field where it was able to stand up on its own.
The horse was evaluated by a veterinarian and is expected to be OK.
