.Many people from professional athletes to children have taken the ALS ice bucket challenge.
But have all those compelling videos translated into money to help patients?
Lynn Aaronson is the executive director of the Massachusetts chapter of the ALS Association and joined us for more on the results.
She said the results are incredible. She said that last year there was about $20,000 raised around August. This year there has been almost $202,000 raised in two weeks in the Massachusetts chapter.
She said this is only online contributions and that the mail donations haven’t been totaled.
Aaronson said she doesn’t believe the popularity has peaked and that some big events coming up in the fall should keep it going.
