International Space Station R&D Conference to Meet in Boston

The International Space Station Research and Development Conference will hold its fourth annual meeting in Boston this week.

NASA astronauts Cady Coleman, Karen Nyberg and Sunita Williams will be among the speakers at the meeting. It runs Monday through Thursday at the Boston Marriott Copley Square.

The conference was created to connect commercial and academic communities involved in new innovations, breakthroughs and discoveries onboard the orbiting laboratory.

Gov. Charlie Baker will join leaders from NASA, the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center to present funding awards of $500,000 to one or more Massachusetts life science companies to conduct cutting-edge research onboard the International Space Station U.S. National Laboratory.
