Longtime Shop Owner, Fixture of Community in Brookline, Massachusetts, Dies at 101

A longtime fixture at a shop in Brookline, Massachusetts, has passed away at the age of 101.

Ethel Weiss, better known as the "Brookline Candy Lady," was the owner of Irving's Toy and Card Shop in Coolidge Corner since 1939.

The shop was named for her husband, Irving, who passed away in 1960, with whom she originally owned it.

Weiss had a reputation for her list of tips called "Thoughts for a Happier Life." They included ways to show appreciation and be a good role model.
