Man Accused of Threatening MBTA Worker, Hitting Police Officer

Xavier Galatis of Medford, Massachusetts, allegedly became violent when he was caught not paying the fare

A Massachusetts man is facing charges for allegedly threatening an MBTA worker and assaulting a police officer.

Xavier Galatis, 23, of Medford allegedly became violent when a T employee confronted him on Tuesday for not paying the fare at Harvard Station on the Red Line.

Police say that's when Galatis threatened to kill the worker and began yelling racial slurs.

When officers tried to arrest him, he allegedly hit an officer in the stomach.

Galatis will be in court later Wednesday. It's not clear if he has an attorney.
