Man Accused of Trying to Pin Officer, Leading Police on Pursuit From Mass. to RI

The pursuit started in Wrentham, Massachusetts and ended in Cumberland, Rhode Island, according to Foxborough police

A man who allegedly tried to pin a police officer against a building with his car was arrested after leading authorities on a pursuit from Massachusetts to Rhode Island. 

The incident started when the Pawtucket, Rhode Island man allegedly tried to pin an officer during a traffic stop. The man, who was later identified as Jonathan Cleveland, was pulled over because of a registration issue, according to Foxborough police.

Cleveland sped off after the confrontation and initiated a pursuit in Wrentham, where he allegedly hit a police cruiser and drove toward another. The suspect then entered Cumberland, Rhode Island, where he pulled into a driveway and surrendered to officials.

Foxborough police said the man will face charges in Wrentham District Court. Authorities said they are working on obtaining a governor's warrant to extradite him to Massachusetts.

No officers were hurt in the incident.
