A man was arrested for assault and attempted robbery at an MBTA stop on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at 12:15 a.m. at the Sullivan Square station.
A 53-year-old, male victim reported that he was struck in the face several times by an unknown assailant. The assailant then demanded that the victim give him money. When the victim said he didn’t have any, he says the suspect beat him to the ground.
The victim was able to break free and ran onto an MBTA bus. The operator closed the door before the assailant arrived and began pounding on the bus, telling the operator to open the door. Police took notice and were able to arrest him.
The suspect was later identified as Mohamed Noor, 28, of Malden, Massachusetts. Noor was charged with assault with intent to rob.
After failing to cooperate with police during the booking process, he was additionally charged with providing a false name at booking.
