Man Arrested on 2nd OUI Charge After Driving Wrong Way

A Massachusetts man is facing charges for his second OUI - this time as he was going the wrong way down Route 6 from Sandwich to Bourne, according to state police.

Salustriano Dasilva, 44, of Fall River, was arrested Sunday evening in Bourne and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and driving the wrong way down a highway.

State police say they received reports of a wrong-way driver heading eastbound in the westbound lane on Route 6 in Sandwich before 8 p.m., and a trooper responded, catching up with Dasilva before exit 1 in Bourne.

The trooper waited ahead for the vehicle, and saw the Honda after other vehicle flashed their high beams to get his attention.

Dasilva was booked at the Bourne barracks, where bail was set at $2,000 and was transferred to the Barnstable House of Correction.

It's unclear if Dasilva has an attorney or when he'll be arraigned.
