Police arrested a 19-year-old Massachusetts man after a 911 call during attempted breaking and entering on Lazon Brothers Road.
Marquan Moriarty of 126 Lazon Brothers Road in Springfield is charged with felony breaking and entering, possession of burglar Instruments and vandalizing property over $250.00 and will be arraigned in Springfield District Court Friday.
Police went to a townhouse after the homeowner called 911 to report a man had pushed in her air conditioner and was attempting to crawl through the window before she made a noise and the suspect fled the scene.
Officers say they observed the suspect, later identified as Moriarty, running on Oak Street and throwing an object, later determined to be a crowbar. Moriarty was attempting to hide in the bushes of a local residence were police arrested him, according to police.
