A 29-year-old Rhode Island man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the drive-by shooting of a man in Massachusetts almost four years ago.
Willie Wilkerson of Lincoln was convicted Tuesday of shooting 23-year-old Kristopher Rosa during a car chase on Central Street in Avon on Sept. 19, 2011.
Rosa's girlfriend was in the car when he was shot and tried to save him by driving to a hospital.
District Attorney Michael Morrissey said Tuesday that Rosa left a young son who was only a few months old when he was killed.
Wilkerson faces the mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. A sentencing hearing is expected next week.
