Police say a 67-year-old man struck by a pickup truck while crossing a Springfield, Massachusetts, street has died.
The victim, identified as Philip LaBranche, was struck at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Berkshire Avenue and Cottage Street.
The man was crossing the street when he was struck by the truck westbound on Berkshire. LaBranche was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, a 43-year-old Ludlow man, stopped and cooperated with police. He has not been charged.
The crash remains under investigation.
Police say the victim was dressed in dark clothing and may have just left a nearby tavern.
