Man Dies After Fire at Cluttered House

Firefighters went to the home at about 8 p.m. Tuesday and pulled the 40-year-old victim out

Authorities say one man has died in a Scituate, Massachusetts, house fire that firefighters had trouble battling because of clutter inside the home.

Firefighters went to the home at about 8 p.m. Tuesday and pulled the 40-year-old victim out. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man lived in the house with his mother, who was not home at the time.

The victim's name was not made public and the cause remains under investigation.

Crews from Cohasset and Norwell were called in assist.

Scituate's fire chief says firefighters had been to the home many times and had tried to help the residents to deal with the clutter.
