A Richmond, Massachusetts, man who owned a Pittsfield painting company has been killed in a traffic crash less than a mile from his home.

State police say 50-year-old Michael Renzi was ejected from his pickup truck when it crashed at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Emergency personnel performed CPR on Renzi before taking him to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, where he was pronounced dead.

Pittsfield fire officials tell The Berkshire Eagle that the pickup apparently rolled over before coming to rest upright. Renzi was found in the road.

Area roads were wet from a mix of snow and rain at the time of the crash, but state police say the cause remains under investigation.
