An Amesbury man is claiming that his GPS caused him to drive off Lake Road in Yarmouth.

A Massachusetts man is claiming that his GPS caused him to drive off Lake Road in Yarmouth, submerging his car in Swan Pond.

Daniel Alley, 27, of Amesbury was found to have had a revoked license at the time of the accident, and was given a criminal citation.

Alley claims that he was driving with a friend late Thursday night when his Garmin GPS advised him continue straight, taking him right into the pond at the end of Lake Road.

Yarmouth police and fire department quickly arrived on the scene. Both Alley and his passenger were unharmed and declined to be taken to Cape Cod Hospital.
