A Massachusetts man who shot at a police officer chasing him after a traffic stop has been sentenced to up to 13 years in prison.
The Salem News reports that 23-year-old Jeremiah Wooden, of Malden, was also sentenced on Monday to three years' probation for the April 2016 confrontation.
He was convicted last month of charges including assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a firearm without a license. He was acquitted of attempted murder.
While Salem Officer Brian St. Pierre wasn't struck, his wife, in an emotional victim-impact statement, said his life has changed forever. She said her husband has post-traumatic stress disorder, has lost his sense of humor, his personality, and his motivation. The shooting also put a financial strain on the family with two young children.
