A Massachusetts man wanted in connection to a child rape case now faces charges in both Colorado and North Carolina.
Denver, Colorado, police confirmed Sunday that Gregory Lewis, 26, is wanted in their state for sexual assault, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery.
The 6-foot, 2-inch, 270 pound man was initially arrested in Massachusetts in August. He was charged with statutory rape of a child under 14 and ordered to stay under house arrest.
Police say Lewis has been on the run since Sept. 15 when he cut off his GPS ankle bracelet and fled the state. According to police, he returned 10 days later, broke into his stepfather's home, tied him up, and stole a gun.
Officials in North Carolina said they believe Lewis kidnapped, robbed and assaulted a woman in Charlotte on Sept. 23.
Police now believe Lewis is in the Denver area, given the recent reports of his alleged crimes there.
There is a $2,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
