Mass. Gov. Baker Names Final Member to State Transportation Board

Former Worcester Public Works Commissioner Robert Moylan is the newest member

Gov. Charlie Baker has named a final member to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's board of directors and appointed the board's chair.

The move gives Baker control of the panel that oversees operations at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, the Registry of Motor Vehicles and other transportation departments.

The newest member named by Baker on Tuesday is former Worcester Public Works Commissioner Robert Moylan. Baker designated Ruth Bonsignore the board chair.

Also serving on the seven-member board is state Transportation Secretary Stephanie Pollack - another Baker appointee.

The other members include Brian Lang, Steve Poftak and Betsy Taylor and Dominic Blue.

Baker has filed a bill that would create a new DOT board, expanding it to 11 members. The Senate included the expanded board in their version of the state budget.
