A Lowell, Massachusetts, police officer says he wishes he could share his story, but can't on advice of his lawyer after an alleged incident at the school where he serves as a resource officer.
David Pender is on paid leave amid an investigation into an arrest made in September.
The Lowell Sun reports Pender has been with department for 30 years. Students at Lowell High School Career Academy this all started after a student became disorderly during a school assembly in September.
"I would just say hi to him and that's it," student Dante Fogel said. "Actually very surprised by this."
"I wouldn't expect him," Fogel added.
Parents say the school serves students with behavioral issues.
Lowell Police say officers conducted an internal investigation and forwarded those findings on to the District Attorney’s Office.

According to court records, Pender was arrested in late 2013 for domestic assault-and-battery. His wife never filed charges.
"I think they need to be a little more calmer with the kids but I understand their position because these kids are not taught from their parents to respect authority," said Diane Jaquez.
Prosecutors with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office will now decide if Pender will be charged.
