Massachusetts State Police Trooper Found Guilty of Sex Assault

Christopher Kennedy, of West Springfield, was arraigned Wednesday in Hampshire Superior Court

A Massachusetts State Police trooper has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman he met on an online dating site.

According to necn affiliate WWLP, Christopher Kennedy of West Springfield was convicted Friday of assault and battery, indecent assault and battery and indecent exposure.

Kennedy had pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The victim testified that after meeting Kennedy online, she invited him over because she believed she could trust a police officer.

The department had suspended Kennedy without pay during the investigation.

Kennedy is scheduled to be sentenced June 13.
