Men Seen Carrying Firearm Near Stoughton Ikea to Face Judge

Two men have been arrested after they were allegedly spotted with a firearm near the Ikea store in Stoughton, Massachusetts.

Police in Stoughton, Massachusetts say Cullen Ward, 28, of North Providence, Rhode Island and Nathaniel Beaumier, 27, of Providence were arrested on Saturday at a nearby gas station following the scare.

Authorities said they received a call around 6 p.m. about a man walking near Ikea with a gun. The caller described the suspect as wearing camouflage shorts and a white shirt.

Stoughton police responded to the scene along with Avon Police officers and Massachusetts State Police troopers. As the investigation developed, authorities learned they were searching for Ward, who had an active arrest warrant out of Taunton.

Both suspects were spotted about 40 minutes later near an Express Gas station.

A loaded firearm was recovered feet from where the suspects were ordered to the ground. Officers also allegedly found four wrapped bags of what was believed to be cocaine in Ward’s sock.

Both suspects were arrested on charges that include carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession ammunition and shoplifting. Ward was given an additional charge of possession of cocaine.

The pair were scheduled to appear in Stoughton District Court on Monday. It is unclear whether either had an attorney.
