Murder Suspect Denied Permission to Move Out of State

A woman facing a third trial in the death of her wife in their Massachusetts home five years ago has been denied permission to move to Rhode Island.

Cara Lee Rintala is charged with murder in the March 2010 death of Annamarie Cochrane Rintala, a paramedic, found strangled in their Granby home.

Cara Lee Rintala has been tried twice, but hung juries have resulted in two mistrials.

She is free on $150,000 bail but is not allowed to leave western Massachusetts.

The Daily Hampshire Gazette reports she had been living with a friend in Ludlow, but that arrangement is ending and she sked a judge for permission to move in with her parents in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The judge ruled against her Tuesday.

Her lawyers say other suspects weren't properly investigated.
