The Board of Health in Newburyport, Massachusetts, has voted to tear down a house of squalor in which a 7-year-old was found living in with her mother and grandmother last month.

Our Alysha Palumbo has confirmed that the home on Strong Street will be torn down and the new developer is paying the cost to tear it down.

Thirty-two-year-old Kristin Paquette and her 54-year-old mother Debra Paquette are facing criminal charges.

Officials found piles of trash, animal feces and dirty clothes all around the house.

Police say they were alerted to the house after an anonymous tip to child welfare services.

The family is being supported by the Department of Children and Families. They are not allowed in the home.
