The Boston non-profit Horizons for Homeless Children formed 26 years ago to provide early education and care to children ranging in age from two months to five years old.
Each year, one in every 30 children go to sleep without a home of their own. And at Horizons, kids are given a safe place to grow and learn.
Horizons sees 175 children a week in its early education programs. They also have a team of volunteers that helps in more than 130 playspaces across the state.
CEO Dianne Luby joined Horizons a year and a half ago. She says what sets it apart from other programs is the family support services, including how to become job-ready, manage money, or find food and clothing.
