The motorcycle driver was found suffering from a serious leg injury and was transported to a local hospital

Police in Worcester, Massachusetts, say a 70-year-old man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning,

Police responded to the scene of the crash at the intersection of Southbridge and Madison Streets around 10:15 a.m.

The motorcycle driver was found suffering from a serious leg injury and was transported to a local hospital.

Officials say the motorcycle driver, who has not been identified, ran a red light and crashed into a pickup truck which was towing a utility trailer.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and was not injured.

Police said investigation showed the motorcycle driver originally stopped at the light. When a vehicle to his right took a right turn on a red light, that's when they believe he went forward through the red light.

The driver's injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

Police said it appears the driver will be cited for a red light violation.
