Police: Man Destroys Property Over Burger

The incident happened at Elevation Burger on Sunday

A violent episode of restaurant rage has been caught on surveillance camera in Portland, Maine, and police are trying to identify the customer who caused $2,000 in damage.

Police say a man destroyed property at Elevation Burger when he couldn't get a burger around 2 a.m. last Sunday, just after the restaurant had closed.

According to manager Drew Litman, the customer started screaming at the staff and then when outside to the patio area.

He is seen on surveillance footage picking up and throwing tables, smashing umbrellas, and breaking granite stone structures. One of the tables toppled onto nearby Commercial Street, which could have hit on-coming traffic.

A security guard at the restaurant tried to stop him, but the vandal ran away. Police are asking the public to view the footage and see if the suspect can be identified.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 207-874-8595.
