Police in Townsend, Massachusetts, say that a report that three teenage boys were approached by a man who tried to grab one of them is likely not true.
According to Townsend Police, the three boys went to the department just after 3 p.m. Tuesday to report the crime.
The boys said an older male jumped out from behind some rocks and scared them, grabbing one of them and hitting another on the back of his neck.
The teens said the man fled into the woods near the Townsend Senior Center.
Investigators searched the area but did not find the man.
Police said video surveillance from the senior center and library did not give investigators any leads.
It is not known if the teens will face any charges.
