PD: Woman Killed in Early-Morning Stabbing

Officers found the 31-year-old woman on the side of the road suffering from multiple stab wounds

Worcester, Massachusetts, police are investigating the fatal early morning stabbing of a city woman.

Police said in a statement that officers responded to Murray Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. Wednesday for a report of an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Officers found the 31-year-old woman on the side of the road suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police identified the victim later as 31-year-old Cherise Hill of Worcester.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was attacked by more than one person.

There was no word on an arrest.
