Woman Arraigned for Assault That Preceded House Fire

A woman charged in connection with a disturbance in Lynnfield on Friday night was arraigned on Tuesday.

A Peabody, Massachusetts woman was arraigned on Tuesday in connection with a disturbance that preceded a house fire at a home in Lynnfield on Friday night.

Christine Hebert, 49, is charged with assault and battery, threats, and malicious destruction of property after an argument with her boyfriend.

When Lynnfield Police responded to 844 Main Street just before 10 p.m. regarding an unwanted party, they heard shouting, specifically Hebert threatening to kill her boyfriend.  They also observed a struggle between the two.  The victim reported that Hebert slashed the tires on his car.

After Hebert was taken into custody, a fire broke out at the home from which she was taken.

The Office of the State Fire Marshall determined the fire was intentionally set and it's currently under investigation.  No one has been charged in connection with the fire at this time.

Hebert was detained on a probation violation in a prior case, and was ordered to be held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Friday, June 3, 2016.  A plea of not guilty was entered on her behalf.
