Boston Police say a man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at 323 Washington St. around 8 a.m. in the city's Dorchester neighborhood.
The victim's name has not been released.
Police say it was a hit-and-run crash, but police surrounded the van a short distance from the accident scene.
The driver, 34-year-old Melissa Benedict, of Dorchester, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident causing death.
Surveillance video shows the van turning off Washington Street. The vehicle had major damage to its front end and windshield.
The van is registered to VHS Transportation, which declined to comment on the accident.
