A story about a cat thrown out of a car in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, has a surprising twist, and police are claiming that the whole thing was a hoax.
Last week a woman claimed she saw someone throw a plastic shopping bag from a car and discovered a cat inside.
Police told the Sun Chronicle that the woman admitted the story was a lie and that she actually found the cat while on a break at her workplace in Woonsocket and couldn't keep it.
The Sun Chronicle reports that police are now seeking to charge her with filing a false report.
The cat, named Edison, is waiting to be adoption.
