Police: Heroin Overdoses, 2 Fatal, in Northern Massachusetts

Authorities are warning the public of a dangerous batch of heroin circulating in a north-central Massachusetts city after two people died and several more overdosed.

Fitchburg police say the fatal heroin overdoses happened Friday; they say six more people overdosed during an eight-hour span Saturday but those were not fatal.

The Worcester County district attorney's office sent an email warning people who are addicted to heroin and warning their families and friends to be aware that heroin on the streets of Fitchburg this weekend could cause an overdose death.
