Police Investigate Fatal Accident on Interstate-495

A 24-year-old man died after his car collided with a guardrail and tractor-trailer Saturday afternoon

A 24-year-old Cranston, Rhode Island, man is dead after his car crashed Saturday afternoon on Interstate 495 northbound in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.

Makthra Men was driving his 2008 Hyundai sedan in the middle lane when he lost control and hit the left and right side guardrails, according to Massachusetts State Police. Thirty-three-year-old Daniel Matthews from Northborough was driving a tractor-trailer behind the car and despite slowing down, collided with the vehicle.

Men was taken to UMass Medical Center in Worcester where he was pronounced dead. The tractor-trailer driver was not hurt.

The left two lanes of Interstate 495 were closed for a period of time while the accident reconstruction was performed. The scene has since been cleared and all lanes are now open.
