A suspect shot by police while allegedly trying to ram them with a stolen car in Worcester, Massachusetts, will be arraigned Thursday.
Police spotted Cristien Connors, 20, near Lafayette and Lamartine streets Wednesday afternoon driving a car that had been reported stolen out of Rhode Island.
Connors is known to police as an active local gang member.
Police pulled him over, but when they got out of their cruisers, Connors allegedly drove at them.
One officer fired three or four shots, hitting the Connors twice. During a search of his vehicle, police found a handgun.
Connors was treated for non-life-threatening injuries to his hand and leg and has since been released into police custody.
He is being charged with two counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, receiving a stolen motor vehicle and possession of a firearm without a license to carry.
